Fall has yellowed the unusual leaves on the Caucasian Linden. This species may be even more attractive than our native Linden, the American Basswood.

Caucasian Linden
The leaves on the Caucasian Linden are noticeably different than our native species, the American Basswood. I’ve been also trying other species in the Tilia genus.

There is an American Basswood(Tilia americana) tree close to the fence that strong winds took out. Glad the wind pushed it the opposite direction of the fence so I didn’t have to fix it.

A tree frog found a nice short-term home. A small hole in a Basswood tree has given shelter to a tree frog and it comes and goes as it pleases. Basswood trees typically develop cavity holes in them and house all sorts of wildlife.
