Subzero Sunbathing
This morning was frigid, with temps below zero. That is typically unusual in March. The cat climbed up high to soak in the solar warmth, while the goats were outside, too, hoping to feel the March Sun.
Suncicles
The Sun has been getting stronger now that we are in February. Even when the temps are many degrees below freezing, the snow has been melting.
Sweetheart Snow
The Sweetheart Apricot tree is full of blossoms this spring. Even the snow couldn’t stop it.
Frosty Day
Heavy frost covered a lot of the trees. For a short period of time, the frost gives this world a look of fantasy.
Bamboo Snowed Under
Bamboo quickly bends under the weight of winter precipitation. Once the snow starts melting, it quickly becomes upright again.
Snow Guinea
The guinea was not sure what to do on a snowy roof. The edge of the roof was perfect without snow, so the guinea’s feet could stay warmer.
Sticky Snow
The young forest became very white. The snow was wet and tried to cling onto everything.
Vernal Ice
When digging vernal ponds, sometimes the dams are built too low in the wrong place. This year I will have to fix that end with more dirt.
Water Stoppage
The dam in the goat pasture has stopped the flow of snowmelt. This vernal pond is nearly full now.
