Haunted Honey Locust
Longer Days, Colder Nights
The cold has continued to persist this month. While I wait for spring, I continue to enjoy the warmth of the sunsets.

The Honey Locust is west of the house, so is frequently part of the sunsets on the horizon.

Freezing rain has been encasing the trees in ice. This Honey Locust tree looks better with the glaze of ice.
Torture Tree
Honey Locusts(Gleditsia triacanthos) are fast growing and thorny trees. Their trunks are full of vicious spines that are long. The thorns can have some primitive uses.
Thorny Honey Locust
We have a Honey Locust in our yard that is thornless, but out in the wild, I find very thorny Honey Locusts. As long as I don’t touch the tree, I like the look of these trees, just wouldn’t want to try climbing one.
