So far, blight hasn’t killed my American Chestnut trees. This is a young one nearing flowering age.

American Hybrid Chestnut
My Hybrid Chestnut is flowering a lot, though the other Chestnuts around it aren’t at the same stage of life, so most of the flowers go unpollinated. In the next couple years though, this tree should really ramp up production and provide wildlife a good food source.
American Chestnut Long Way Up
Looking up into a young American Chestnut tree: Chestnut trees have good growth, but there is always a risk of Chestnut Blight killing my 100% American Chestnuts. I also have Chinese and Hybrid Chestnut trees started.
American Chestnut Flowering
Chestnut trees flower late, especially this year in early July. The American Chestnut(Castanea dentata) flowers high up in the canopy. The photo above is of a Hybrid Chestnut that has flowers closer to the ground.
