Deer buck rubs cause many little trees to look like toothpicks. Each buck can rub dozens of trees each fall.

Last year a young Black Locust trunk was rubbed by a buck, Black Locust Deer Rub. This year the tree was hit again.

A buck deer has been attracted to one of my Black Locust trees. It has been rubbing hard on this tree. Diamond doesn’t seem to distraught about my damaged tree.

Ran into a deer rub on a Hawthorn. The buck deer has been brutal to this tree and maybe to me, too.
