Blue Velvet Honeyberry

The Honeyberry looks like it really wants to create fruit.

These small bushes have flowers in pairs, so pollination is more likely.

My little Russian Almond is flowering this spring.

I hope that it produces some nuts this year, because I would like to see how edible this bush is.

I saw a lot of green beetles chewing on apple leaves.

They are called Apple Flea Beetles and jump when my hand got near them.

The Japanese White Birch is very attractive in spring.

The male catkins look like ornaments on the tree.

Some willow trees are very attractive in spring.

The Bigfoot Willow is a male hybrid willow and has numerous catkins that make the trees look yellow for a short time before fully leafed out.

It has been a long time since I have seen a weasel.

This weasel lost a fight with my cat.

Honeyberry is an edible fruiting bush that is in the Lonicera genus. This bush is also called Haskap.

They are the first ripe fruit of the year and birds take advantage of that.

The Ussurian Plums have started to flower.

2nd year in a row this tree has been loaded with flowers.

The Nanking Cherries(Prunus tomentosa) are some of the earliest flowering bushes around.

They were full of flowers this spring.

The Ponderosa Pines(Pinus ponderosa) were hit hard this spring when the south winds picked up while the ground was still frozen.

The lone green tree is a Southwestern White Pine(Pinus strobiformis). This Species seems to be one of the best pines for my Oasis.
