Ironweed is of the Vernonia genus and is a hardy and tough plant.

Green King Hybrid Elm

The Green King Hybrid Elm was planted 10 years ago, back in spring of 2004.

This hybrid tree has grown fast, even though early on it had some bark stripped off the trunk by goats.

Grapevine Spotlight

I routinely have to cut back vines on my windbreak trees, such as this wild grapevine on my Blue Spruce(Picea pungens).

The birds deposit a lot of seeds and the ground it littered with many small trees and vines.

Grasshopper Versus Tree Dahlia

Grasshoppers are everywhere this year.

Grasshopper-Infestation

This plague of insects has frequently been seen on the Tree Dahlias.  Tree Dahlias are not hardy here and have to be dug up every fall and replanted in the spring.  So far they have not flowered in our climate.
