Variegated Trees in Iowa Here are a few of the many different variegated trees I am currently growing: Variegated Chinese Elm Variegated Hedge Maple Variegated Hybrid Maple Variegated Hydrangea Variegated Poplar
Carnival Maple Carnival Hedge Maple has some of the most attractive leaves that can be found on a tree. The only downside is the tree is growing very slowly.
Old and New The European Beech in the yard has started to leaf out. The new leaves and old leaves add a contrasting visual to this tree. European Beeches seem to be one of the few deciduous trees that I grow that retain some leaves throughout the winter.
Color in Multiple Seasons The Variegated Lilac looks attractive as soon as it leafs out in Spring and lasts until leaf drop in the fall. As an added bonus, these variegated shrubs also have the familiar lilac flowers in spring.
Sensation Lilac Flowering Bush Sensation Lilac looks like a common lilac when not in flower. But becomes a sensation when in flower, with flowers outlined in white.
Ohio Buckeye Spring Season Ohio Buckeye is one of the first trees to leaf out in spring. Some of the trees are also starting to put on a flower display.
White Lilac Flowers There is one White Lilac among all the Purple Lilacs in my Old Fashioned Lilac row. I’ll take some suckers of this bush to help preserve it on my place.
