Magenta Corn

This is the first time I am trying a couple kinds of parching corn.

This is a pretty corn called Magenta Parching Corn.

Maybe it is caused by mostly imagination, but when I saw this fungi growing in the grass, I saw a face popping out of the ground.

The contrast of the green grass and the fungi is appealing.

Sometimes thunderclouds and the Sun hit just right to create a photo that I want to last a lifetime.

This was one of those moments.

I planted some castor beans, sunflowers, and amaranth among each other this year.

The castor beans grow to a large size and are quite bold and ornamental in the landscape.

Tomato hornworms are huge and they turn into a big moth.

They can damage tomato plants because they have big appetites.

Arundo Donax is a fast growing reed that is resistant to animal damage, though not immune.

Some of the shoots have been cut off by a rabbit.

Have been growing the purple asparagus yard long bean this summer. This bean is a pole bean and produces a good crop.

The taste is actually bland and is more productive than tasteful.

White Mulberry(Morus alba) fruit can be different colors.

Some trees produce white fruit, others maybe purple or pink.

Black Locust(Robinia pseudoacacia) is a fast growing tree that likes to sucker and create more trees.

These fast growing trees are legumes that fix nitrogen and can help other trees grow faster in close proximity.

Among the corn plants that came up, I see one has variegated leaves.

I wonder if it will live to maturity, but appears to be lacking vigor.
