Monarch Butterflies Monarch Butterflies have been attracted to my flowering Mexican Sunflowers. These large, annual plants produce a lot of flowers from summer to fall.
Annual Flower Garden Annuals make up the bulk of this flower garden. Though the white flowers in the foreground are perennials.
Flower Attractant Squash flowers have been having some visitors lately. This flower dwarfs the army of ants on it.
Variegated Elm Leaves The Variegated Chinese Elm has nice variegation on some of the leaves. Though some of the leaves don’t show much variegation.
Pixie Crunch Pixie Crunch Apple tree had a few apples for the first time this year. The Apple did not disappoint in the crunch, the flavor was pretty mild though.
Ant Invasion A mass of Ants appeared near the door. Not sure what kind of Ants these are, but my shoes won’t care.
Common Reed Common Reed has running rhizomes and is found in odd places. These shoots are coming up between the trunk and bark of an old, cut-down Lombardy Poplar.
Hydrangea Flowers Hydrangea bushes can have large flower bunches. There are a lot of beautiful species and cultivars.
Variegated Red Clover Every once and awhile I come across variegated plants. This Red Clover has nice variegation.
Last Mulberry of the Year The Illinois Everbearing Mulberry had a productive year this year and lived up to its name. The tree had fruit starting to ripen in June and the last mulberry is getting close to ripe now.
