Chinese Yam Edible

Chinese Yam has an edible root, but also the aerial bulbils can be used for food.

So far I have only been using these to start more plants.

Jarrahdale Pumpkin is a productive and good tasting pumpkin.

I planted some vegetable seed back in August.

Now I have fresh leafy greens to eat this fall.

These young windbreak trees used to be part of a goat pasture.

Now they help in winter to protect the goats from the North winds.

Maximilian Sunflower is a perennial Sunflower with a lot of late season blooms.

Some years cold temperatures kill it off before it can look like this.

Japanese Raisin Tree(Hovenia dulcis) has not been very hardy for me.

This selection supposed to be cold-hardier, but still is having problems.

I have been collecting a lot of different trees, below are some Chinese trees.

From left to right: Chinese Catalpa, Chinese Mahogany, and Chinese Lacquer Tree.

This Hawthorn tree has been confused with the weather.

It started flowering some in the Fall, but flowering in Spring is the normal time to flower.
