I have been growing the Variegated Yellow Loosestrife.

This plant ended up converting back to the normal green type and has lost the variegation.

I have been growing the Japanese Varnish Tree(Rhus verniciflua).

Injury to the branches will release a black ooze called urushiol, which can cause painful rashes on susceptible people.

Red-Headed Woodpeckers became very common on our place during the decades that Dutch Elm Disease was killing all the elms.

Variegated Catalpa leaves in Spring:

In Summer, the leaves are darker, so variegation isn’t as pronounced.

Kentucky Coffeetree(Gymnocladus dioicus) has been slow growing for me.

But the new growth and large compound leaves are beautiful.

The Japanese Black Pine(Pinus thunbergiana) is already starting to produce pine cones.

It is an attractive Pine with dark-green needles.

Horse Chestnut(Aesculus hippocastanum) new growth is attractive.

Some orange fuzzy stuff is still hanging on.

The Aralia Elata I am growing has spines everywhere on it.

It is the most dangerous-looking tree I grow.

I have a young Hupeh Wingnut(Pterocarya Hupehensis) that has multiple trunks on it, so decided to dig out one and make a new tree.

With a little care, this Wingnut division should grow into a fast growing tree.

I do not live on a mountain, but do live on a high point in the landscape.

I see a lot of beautiful scenery from my vantage point.
