Chestnut Flowering
My Hybrid Chestnut tree has been full of flowers this summer.
Since there is no other Chestnut flowering near this tree, it will not produce nuts.
70 mph Versus Trees
A storm came through with strong winds, 70 mph and over hit hard and toppled some large trees.
Basswood trees in various locations got hit hard.
Evergreen windbreak trees that faced off versus the wind were hit hard, such as a White Pine(Pinus strobus) that snapped off easily enough.
Another large Cottonwood(Populus deltoides) fell this year. The storm help cause windthrow.
