The Illinois Everbearing Mulberry has longer fruit than the naturalized White Mulberries here.
They are good tasting and are said to be a hybrid between a Red Mulberry(Morus rubra) and White mulberry(Morus alba).

Is one variety better tasting than another? I am trying to pick out a Mulberry tree that will grow in a humid zone 8b in Texas. I would like the 10-15ft tall everbearing if possible but there seems to be so many to choose from. When mature, are they ok in areas near seating or will the wasps be at them all the time eating the fruit?
Illinois Everbearing Mulberry is one of the best cultivars of the white and red mulberries. A lot of people think that black mulberry is the best tasting, so you may want to try a black mulberry cultivar since you are in a warm enough zone, like noir de spain or black beauty. Black mulberry is also a shrubby species, so will fit better in your size preference. Mulberries do attract a lot of insects while fruiting, so I wouldn’t want to sit by one when they are in fruit.
