The Heartnut is a beautiful nut that fits right at home on Valentine’s Day. The nut is easy to crack and remove from the shell. Too bad most of my trees have dieback from harsh winters.

Black Locust Deer Rub
A buck deer has been attracted to one of my Black Locust trees. It has been rubbing hard on this tree. Diamond doesn’t seem to distraught about my damaged tree.
Bird Berries
There are a lot berries that are not edible for me, but birds love. Devil’s Walking Stick(Aralia spinosa) berries and Multiflora Rose(Rosa multiflora) Hips and Pokeweed(Phytolacca americana) berries.

The Canadian Geese have gathered for a meeting on my island. This is the reason I like islands on my ponds.
Cat Bird
My cat has found a good place to hangout. The bird feeder attracts birds, thus attracts cats, too.
December Green Bamboo
Bamboo is still green into December. Animals like hiding in the bamboo. The best kind to grow in my climate is hardy species from the Phyllostachys genus.

The Beavers were able to dam up a small area and created a big body of water. The beaver pond is around 2 acres in size.
