While out doing work, my dog was sniffing around an area. I checked out the area and found this: Farther up the hill I found the remaining body. It would be interesting to know the story of its final day on Earth.

Iowa Porcupine
Branches on this Mulberry tree are being stripped, like I have a porcupine in my woods. But since porcupines don’t live here, the offenders must be squirrels.
Takeoff
I saw that a turkey made prints in the snow with its feet and also the wing feathers. Looks like the turkey took flight to the sky.
Deserted Rookery
These abandoned nests of a flock of Great Blue Herons awaits their return this spring. It is fun to hear the squawking chicks in the nests during the summer.
Greenery
I keep planting evergreens throughout the woods. I would have liked my bamboo to live and be one of the important evergreens, but so far only conifers are important here. Owls like the winter habitat I am creating for them.
Toothpick Tree
Deer buck rubs cause many little trees to look like toothpicks. Each buck can rub dozens of trees each fall.
Hickory Love
Hickories are ornamental trees that give wildlife and me food. The fall color can be good to outstanding.

Tree Frog Waiting Game
A Tree Frog is in a good position to get a meal. It is among the Mexican Bamboo flowers, waiting for pollinating insects to fly by.
Buddies
One of my cats found a buddy to eat. Cats have helped control the rabbit population from damaging a lot of the plants.
