Giant Pumpkins

Giant Pumpkins were grown this year. They were more of a novelty and not as good tasting as other pumpkins.

Chinese Yam has an edible root, but also the aerial bulbils can be used for food. So far I have only been using these to start more plants.

Jarrahdale Pumpkin is a productive and good tasting pumpkin.

I planted some vegetable seed back in August. Now I have fresh leafy greens to eat this fall.

Interesting little insect was eating a purple bean. First time I have seen this insect, love the color of it.

My young cat goes by the name Squashie. I had her take a photo with some Butternut Winter Squash.

The Chinese Yam( Dioscorea) is a fast growing perennial vine. The vine will produce aerial tubers that are edible.

Stuffer Tomatoes are drier tomatoes to grow. Don’t have to worry about a juicy mess when first biting into one.

Stinging Nettles is the earliest vegetable I can eat in the spring. After it is cooked, it does not sting anymore and is very nutritious.
