I picked my Pineapple Pears a month ago. But this one I had missed and somehow kept growing instead of rotting away.

Fall Flowering Shrubs
The Seven Sons Shrub is a very late flowering plant. These flowers draw in pollinators from afar. Bumble bees were still on the plant into the night.
Hardy Rubber Tree
The Hardy Rubber Tree keeps nearly flawless green leaves into the fall. But this species has had some winter dieback in the worst winters.
European Alder
European Alder has fast growth rates. Though for some reason this is the only one of my European Alders that hasn’t died back to the ground.
Pitlolly Pines
I still have several Pitlolly Pines that keep on surviving everything Iowa throws at them. These Pines have looked great this year with the mild weather.
Hardiest Wingnut of Them All
I am growing various species of Wingnut. This is a Japanese Wingnut, Korean strain for hardiness.
First Fig of the Year
The first figs are starting to ripen on my Brown Turkey Fig tree. This tree grows in a container and I bring it back inside in late fall.
Delicious Apples
The Red and Yellow Delicious Apples will be ripe in about a month. The trees are loaded with fruit this year.
P & P Orchard
The Persimmon/Pecan Orchard has slowly been growing through the years. A lot of flowering plants have been planted among them.
Big-Leafed Mulberry
Kokuso Mulberry has been a bushy growing tree. The leaves tend to be large and unlobed.
