The cat is looking over my current tree project. I detached one of the trunks on my Purple-Leaved White Birch clump. Hopefully I can create a new tree when I plant this section elsewhere.

In Like a Lamb
March started off with a light snow, covering the landscape. Soon it will melt off with the warm temps.
Earliest Flowers of the Year
Not many flowers to see in winter. But the Witch hazel bush has flowers opening up in February.
Everchanging Colors
The Inferno Willow’s branches change color during different seasons of the year. Now that it is close to spring, the fiery colors of fall and winter are turning a more mellow yellow.
Iowa Porcupine
Branches on this Mulberry tree are being stripped, like I have a porcupine in my woods. But since porcupines don’t live here, the offenders must be squirrels.
Deserted Rookery
These abandoned nests of a flock of Great Blue Herons awaits their return this spring. It is fun to hear the squawking chicks in the nests during the summer.
Tree Colors
I am growing a lot of different colored trees, whether their branches or leaves are different colored. The colored branches of this golden willow are a noticeable addition to the dull-colored, winter landscape.
Klingon
Out of the wind, the wet snow has clung onto everything it touches. But out in the open, large drifts formed because of the blizzard conditions.
Camouflage
A cat blends in nicely with the old beech leaves. Though I could spot him because of his white fur.
Beech Snowed In
The European Beech is still retaining its leaves into the winter, collecting snow before it can hit the ground.
