Charlie’s Golden Autumn Olive created a few berries this year. There wasn’t much Autumn Olive fruit this year, most of the cultivars I have bought are struggling to survive or dead now.

Jagged Ambush Bugs
Jagged Ambush Bugs are mating while finding pollinating insects to kill. They were wandering around on a Hydrangea bush.
First Fig of the Year
The first figs are starting to ripen on my Brown Turkey Fig tree. This tree grows in a container and I bring it back inside in late fall.
Late Summer Pink Flowers
The Pink Cascade Tamarisk flowers in late summer. The pink flowers attract a lot of insects that are looking for the late season nectar.
Sorbaria Cuttings
I took stem cuttings of a Sorbaria this spring. The plants actually are flowering already.
Fruit Cuttings
I’ve tried Autumnberry cuttings a few times and this year was the best year so far. I also tried a couple Seaberry cuttings and 100% took. So I will have to try more of those cuttings in the future.
Titan Fontanesia
This little known shrub has attractive bamboo-like appearance. The bark on the branches looks cool, too. These young plants haven’t flowered yet, but hopefully that adds another ornamental aspect to this rare bush.
Alabama Snow Wreath
I think this is the first year that I had Alabama Snow Wreath flower. This is a nice little shrub grown mostly for its flowers.
Purpleleaf Chokecherry
Purple Chokecherry leafs out green, but later the leaves turn purple. This Chokecherry cultivar can be propagated via the suckers that come up.
Red Wings No More
The Samaras on the Red Wings Maple have dried up. They are ready to harvest and plant.
