Chicory Pasture
A good patch of Chicory is growing in a pasture. The flowers are opened up in the morning and quickly create a blue cast over the pasture.

Iowa Powered Parachute
I could hear a loud noise come closer and closer, sounding like a lawn mower in the air. It was a Powered Parachute and flew slow and low.
Cottonwood Clouds
The largest tree on this Oasis is the Cottonwood(Populus deltoides) below: Yet the tall clouds put the tree’s height in perspective.
Yellow Willow Catkins
The native Black Willow can be attractive with its many yellow catkins. Black Willow(Salix nigra) doesn’t make a good landscape tree because the branches break easily like a Crack Willow(Salix fragilis).
Pitlolly Pines After Winter
Pitch x Loblolly Pines suffered this past winter. Though some stayed green.
Winter for a Day
4 inches had fallen overnight. By tomorrow it should be melted and spring can resume.
March Sunsets
March has stayed cold, not much grass greening up or other colors. Except for the colorful sunsets this month.
Dry Iowa
Just as last fall was dry, this spring has continued to be dry. There wasn’t much snowmelt this spring, but some moisture has collected in the bottom of this pond, that was dug deeper back in 2012.
