Japanese White Birch Catkins
The male catkins on the Japanese White Birch trees are opening up this month. They don’t last very long until they fall to the ground and some of the goats may eat up the spent catkins.
Snow Grazing
The goats didn’t want to wait for the snow to melt. They went out onto the snowy pasture to eat any green blades of grass they can see.
Afforestation
Slowly I have been planting more trees in former pasture. I make sure to mix some conifers in for wildlife cover.
Germinating Haybale
This year is shaping up to be the wettest year on record. Even the hay bales have grass seed sprouting in them.
