Yellow Fruit
There are many different Viburnum species and cultivars, so there is a lot of variability in the fruit. This fruit is an uncommon yellow color.
Pear Season Starts
Pears are starting to ripen and I have harvested some for fresh eating. My Stark Delicious Pears and Pineapple Pears are the first to ripen, ripening in the month of August.
2nd Place Finish
Zestar had been my first Apple of the year, but this year it comes in 2nd place. These are great tasting Apples for the early season.
Weeping Asian Pear
My Shinko Pear is loaded with so much fruit, it is starting to weep. This is the first year I will get fruit of this Asian Pear.
Aronia Berries
My Viking and Nero Aronia bushes have been ripening their blue fruit. The berries do not taste good fresh, but the birds are making them disappear.
Only One
There was no peaches again this year, except this lone Peach I found in the Redhaven Peach tree. Redhaven Peach has been more reliable at producing fruit than the Reliance Peach in my Iowa location.
Pristine Apple Color
Some of my Pristine Apples have had a pretty light color. These have been great tasting apples.
Golden White Willow
Planted some Golden White Willow cuttings. They have taken off pretty good, though the Pokeweed is competing well.
Blackberry Harvest
Triple Crown and Chester Blackberries are currently being harvested every day. I have to pick them often and stay ahead of the Spotted wing drosophila fruit flies.
