The main Privet I am currently growing is the Amur River North Privet. These shrubs flower when young, though haven’t produced fruit yet.

Iowa Flowering Roses
There are a few different Roses that flower on my Oasis. The most common and aggressive one is the Multiflora Rose. Even though a lot died from RRD(Red Rosette Disease), there are still some lingering around and starting up. Maybe as time goes on, more resistant Multiflora Roses will exist and not die from RRD.
Flowering Hardy Kiwi
My female Kiwi plants are currently flowering. As in the past, there has not been a male to pollinate these vines, so they may not have fruit again.
Hollywood Plums
My little Hollywood Plum tree is pretty noticeable among the other vegetation. These trees grow slow because of the lack of chlorophyll.
Ripening Strawberries
Strawberries are starting to ripen. Some of the bunches are quite large.
Blue False Indigo
Blue False Indigo is a tough plant in my climate. This bush-like perennial is full of flowers.
Milkweed for Monarchs
Milkweed is a common plant that I usually don’t think twice about. Now with all the talk about Monarch Butterflies, I try to save all the Milkweed plants I come across.
May Crambe Flowers
Colewort plants are starting flower early this year. These flowers attract a lot of insect pollinators.
Virginia Waterleaf Blooming in Iowa
Virginia Waterleaf is one of the most common woodland plants in the understory. At this time of the year the flowers attract a lot of bees.
Iowa Iris Garden
There used to be a lot of Iris cultivars in this garden. It has been survival of the fittest, any many have died in the grass. The main survivors are yellow and pink Irises.
