Years ago I found some poppies on an abandoned homestead, no one left to enjoy the flowers. I brought the flowers home and was excited to see them flower the next year and every year since with big, beautiful orange flowers.

Viburnum Clouds
I had noticed puffs of flowers coming from a Viburnum. As if clouds are floating around this plant.
Purple Robe Locust
Purple Robe Locust is a very beautiful tree in spring. The main flower display is now, but these trees will intermittently flower throughout summer.
Bristly Locust Flower
Bristly Locust(Robinia fertilis) has attractive pink flowers. These shrubs spread via suckers, but also have viable seed.
Yellow Willow Catkins
The native Black Willow can be attractive with its many yellow catkins. Black Willow(Salix nigra) doesn’t make a good landscape tree because the branches break easily like a Crack Willow(Salix fragilis).
Black Cherry Flowering
You always can see where the Black Cherries(Prunus Serotina) are when they are flowering. Later in summer, the trees have cherries that the wildlife love to eat.
Spiraea Blooming
This Spiraea bush has been here for decades, reliably flowering every year. This is the first year that I decided to propagate it by cuttings and make more.
Evans Cherry
The Evans Cherry produced fruit for the first time last year and looks like it will continue that trend. This shrub is also called the Bali Cherry.
Chojuro Asian Pear Another Year Flowering
The Chojuro Pear has flowered again this spring. This pear tree has never produced fruit yet, but has flowered for multiple years.
White Lilac
Most of the Common Lilacs in my windbreak row have purple flowers. There is this lone white Lilac and I need to propagate more of it.
