Comfrey Tenacity
Comfrey is vigorous and hard to kill with its strong root system. This plant pictured above wasn’t even planted, it just appeared, whether from a piece of root or plant dropped there or from seed. These tall-growing perennial plants are attractive to such pollenizers as bumblebees.
Black Locust White Flowers
The young Black Locusts are full of flowers this spring. Later in the summer the locusts will be filled with small pods.
Clematis State of Flowering
Clematis cultivars can grow and flower well here. This vine is in various stages of flowering.
Tundra Honeyberry
I got a few more Honeyberry plants, that are improved cultivars over some of the older bushes I have. The berries tend to be bigger and tastier.
Golden Lilac
The Golden Lilac stands out among the green in the landscape. It also has faded pink flowers in spring, which is unfortunate, as darker flowers would have added a nice contrast to the foliage.
Black Cherry Scenery
Black Cherry trees are easy to notice when they flower in the landscape. Black Cherries are the most noticeable in the spring with their mass flower display, though later in the year the small black cherries are attractive, too. The birds eat a lot of them.
Color Contrasts
Color in Multiple Seasons
The Variegated Lilac looks attractive as soon as it leafs out in Spring and lasts until leaf drop in the fall. As an added bonus, these variegated shrubs also have the familiar lilac flowers in spring.
Sensation Lilac Flowering Bush
Sensation Lilac looks like a common lilac when not in flower. But becomes a sensation when in flower, with flowers outlined in white.
