This Viburnum bloomed earlier in the year. Now it is reblooming this fall. It doesn’t rebloom every fall, though. The weather may have to do with it.

Purple Smoke Tree
Purple Smoke Tree keeps good fall color from spring to fall. The Sawtooth Oak in the background stays green late in fall.
Giant Miscanthus Grass
Giant Miscanthus is a large grass topped with spectacular plumes in fall. This tall grass can top out over 10′ tall by fall and is used for fast growing windbreaks, screens, and biomass.
Golden Era
Bitternut Hickories contrast well with evergreens, like the Eastern Red Cedar. Soon the Red Cedar will be the only color in this area.
Spilt Milk Bush Clover
Spilt Milk Bush Clover is a type of Lespedeza, that is variegated. I just got it this spring and its already blooming in the first year.
Pokeweed Berry Production
One Pokeweed plant can have hundreds, if not thousands of fruit. These perennials die back to the ground every year but come back with a lot of growth and can be the size of a bush.
Ornamental Grass Fall
Even some of the Ornamental Grasses can have fall color. Running Miscanthus always has a lot to offer in fall, with the foliage turning color and the many white plumes.
Fire Cherry
By fall, the Pin Cherry looks like it is on fire. This small cherry has already flowered, but still doesn’t yield any fruit for wildlife.
Predictable Fall Color
I keep transplanting the root suckers of the Devil’s Walkingstick and spreading them throughout my Oasis. The fall color of these suckering shrubs add early fall color in the landscape and are easily spotted with their purplish foliage.
Florida Dogwood
I bought a couple of Florida Dogwoods that suppose to be hardier than the species in general. One is left and always has great fall color, though it too can suffer from bad winters.
