This silly goose thought it would enjoy the rain water in the tractor bucket. It is nice to find opportunity in the unlikeliest places.

Iowa Pelicans
This is the first time I saw pelicans stop on our pond. Hopefully in the future I will have larger ponds that attract them more during their migration.

Every Spring the skies start to become noisy. Geese and many other birds fly north.

The snow has been melting this month. The geese are having fun in the melting snow, too.
Near the End
As I was walking around I came upon this turkey. It appeared to be sick and soon will be food for some other animal.
New Chickens
This year we got some new chickens. They have been spending time in the shed until they get older.
One Life Not Enough
I saw something from afar on the hood of the pickup truck. A baby bird’s chance to fly is cut short.
Back Too Soon
The Canadian geese come early, ready to stake their spots for the nesting season. Ice is starting to form on the water again with the recent cold weather.
Bad Idea
We have a goose that walks around that is mentally challenged. The goose wanted to enjoy a swim in the water, but the water source was too small and she was stuck in the ice cream bucket.
Cardinal Bamboo
Decided that a female cardinal could have its photo taken with bamboo. This bamboo species has long, big leaves and is called Indocalamus tessellatus.
