Wood Duck Vernal Pond
My vernal pond attracted wood ducks this spring. The wood ducks used a nearby oak tree for a nesting hole.
Domestic Goose Escapee
The neighbor’s goose flew away and has been living on my pond. The cattle are making sure it is not a threat.
Swimming Great Blue Heron
I have never seen a Great Blue Heron swim until this month. This appears to be a younger heron and can’t fly good for some reason, so hangs out at my pond all the time.
Katsura Tree
I saw a little bird nest in the Katsura(Cercidiphyllum) Tree. My Katsura trees have been slow growing and suffer from drought.
Super Big Goose Egg
Here is a photo of a goose egg I found compared to normal sized goose eggs: That had to hurt laying a big egg like that.
Snow Nest
The Canadian Goose is already laying on its nest and now it has snowed.
Want to Fly
This goose was trying to fly, but can’t. She has been mentioned in these two other blog entries, bad idea and goose tractor.
Guinea Fowl Cold Feet
The Guineas did not like walking around on the snow. They took a break to sun themselves while standing on the tractor.
Gentle Giant
I have a pet rooster that goes by the name Henry. He is a large Dark Brahma and very friendly.
