A couple Turkey Vultures are always hanging around the forest. The gray heads are indicative of their youth.

Grapevine Spotlight
I routinely have to cut back vines on my windbreak trees, such as this wild grapevine on my Blue Spruce(Picea pungens). The birds deposit a lot of seeds and the ground it littered with many small trees and vines.

Overprotective Mother
A turkey was running around trying to get my attention. I found this baby nearby.
Guinea Fowl Nest
Now that I have killed a lot of the weeds, the Guinea Fowl female is very noticeable on the nest. I will need to pick up the guinea eggs and incubate them in an incubator. If this guinea is left on this next, she becomes vulnerable to predators.
Great Blue Heron Nest
There is a a lot of chatter way high above in the Blue Heron nests. This rookery was formed in a tall Cottonwood tree. There are currently 3 nests in the crown of this tree.
Turkey Vulture Perch
Turkey Vultures are a common sight in the summer. Though I rarely see them landed.
