Black Cherries look red in fall. Black Cherries are very ornamental and are great for wildlife, too.

Freedom
I let out the young Chickens and they are getting their first taste of freedom. They work good on the homestead.
Friendly Great Blue Heron
Great Blue Herons usually fly away when they see me. But there is one that hangs around and ignores me while fishing.
Invasive Rose Hips
Multiflora Rose has been a part of this farm as long as I can remember. These Rose bushes create a lot of rose hips that the birds eat and spread the seed around. Red Rosette Disease killed a lot of the bushes though.
Iowa Blue Heron
The easiest way to attract Herons on my Oasis is to make more bodies of water. The Great Blue Herons are on of the largest birds in the area and love fishing in the ponds.
Bird Fruit
Aralia Spinosa can flower in late summer and by fall have berries for wildlife. The birds will quickly devour the fruit.
Oklahoma Silver Red Cedar
Oklahoma Silver Cedar is a lot bluer than the native Red Cedars. This selection also has the cedar berries for attracting wildlife.
Duck Meetup
Father Drake is meeting up with his children. Ducks grow pretty fast and and the ones born this summer are already adult size.
Live or Die
A Great Horned Owl has been hanging around and I am starting to see what it is capable of when hunting for its hungry babies. I am having to get the ducks earlier in at night to save them.
Twins
A couple young Owl Fledglings have been hanging around lately. Once it is evening, they start begging their Great Horned Owl mom for food with their voices, one after another, competing for what their mom kills.
