Chinese Catalpa Fall Look
Catalpas look awesome in the summer when flowering, but obtain an interesting look in fall and winter. These trees look like they would be at home in a cemetery, with their eerie look.
Pitch x Loblolly Pine
Now that I am growing Pitch Pines, I am realizing my Pitlolly Pines that survive resemble Pitch Pines more than Loblolly Pines. But they are faster growing than Pitch Pines and a little less hardy. It has been worth getting this Hybrid Pine, as it is my fastest growing Pine.
Iowa Blue Heron
The easiest way to attract Herons on my Oasis is to make more bodies of water. The Great Blue Herons are on of the largest birds in the area and love fishing in the ponds.
Bird Fruit
Aralia Spinosa can flower in late summer and by fall have berries for wildlife. The birds will quickly devour the fruit.
Rare Variegated Miscanthus
There are a few different rare Variegated Miscanthus cultivars. This selection is the only one with running rhizomes.
Fall Bracts
Not only are the white flowers of the Seven Son Flower attractive. The Pink Bracts that follow add beauty.
Oklahoma Silver Red Cedar
Oklahoma Silver Cedar is a lot bluer than the native Red Cedars. This selection also has the cedar berries for attracting wildlife.
Hoptree Seed Harvest
Hop Trees start bearing a lot of seed every year, even when young. I won’t be surprised if seedlings pop up naturally.
