Georgia Bush Honeysuckle is a hardy, low-growing bush. This cultivar is known as Troja Black and has darker leaves.

Red Elderberry is a new species I have added to the Oasis. I have also tried the Blue Elderberry, which has struggled in my climate. The native Iowa one that grows everywhere is the American Elderberry.
Chinese Prickly Ash
This shrub is closely related to the native Prickly Ash. The different species in the genus have compound leaves and thorny stems.
Pokeweed Fruit
Pokeweed is a large perennial which fruits for a long period in late summer. These berries are commonly consumed by birds.
Mexican Sunflower
Mexican Sunflower has been a fast growing plant in my flower garden. This flowering annual has started to produce a lot of small flowers.

Salt Cedar attracts a lot of insects to its flowers. This shrubby tree is considered invasive in some west parts of the country, but behaved mostly elsewhere.

My seedling Seaberries have been ripening their fruit. The fruit is very small, but has an interesting citrus flavor.

Tomato production has been in high gear this month. Buckets of various Tomatoes has been common.
Asian Pears of Iowa
I have 4 Asian Pears that are producing fruit this year. These two fruits are Shinseiki and Chojuro.
Standouts
In a routinely green forest, the White Poplars standout. These Poplar trees are fast growing and competed well with the surrounding trees.
