There is an intense aroma coming from the woods. Large Honeysuckle bushes are in full flower right now. Young Norway Spruce on the right are growing fast in this forest setting.

Charlie’s Golden Autumn Olive
Charlie’s Golden Autumn Olive has been my most vigorous and has had the least die-back of my Autumn Olives. It has a good flower set this year.
Yellow Sweet Cherry Seedlings
I have a couple Yellow Sweet Cherry seedlings that are starting to gain size and flower. These Sweet Cherries suppose to have yellow fruit and less likely that bird depredation happens.
Dying Invasive Plants
Autumn Olive is considered invasive in some locations. The cultivars I have planted have been the opposite, barely hanging onto life because of various problems, which I think are winters and cankers.
Vernal Pool Life
Warming temps have caused a lot of vegetative growth in and around the Vernal Pond. This growth has attracted more animal life.
Iowa Clematis Vine
A lot of vines are too vigorous for small spots, but the Clematis vine works for those spots. Clematis is a small vine with large flowers.
Copper Beech
An interesting Beech tree to grow is the Copper Beech tree. The leaves contrast a lot with the green scenery.
Columbine Persistence
This Columbine plant was bought from Oikos Tree Crops and suppose to live for more years than other similar Columbine plants. So far I have gotten many years of enjoyment out of its flowers.
Red Dragon
Red Dragon Hazelnut has been slow growing so far for me. This is a very interesting plant though, with its reddish leaves and contorted branches.
Spiraea Cuttings
My Spiraea cuttings easily rooted last year and had good growth. This year the small plants are already flowering.
