Vernal Pond Spring Rains
The snowmelt and spring rains help replenish the vernal ponds that I have built throughout the woods. This vernal pond seems to hold water better than some of the others.
Hosta Aggression
Most Hostas are well-behaved, but this selection wants to run. This Hosta doesn’t have a lot of garden ornamental value like some other better known Hosta cultivars, but has found a niche in a more wild setting.
Golden Woodland Plants
The woods can be a mix of greenery and flowers in spring, but there also be some selections have leaves with vivid colors. The above are Bleeding Heart and Hosta cultivars with emerging golden leaves, to help brighten up the spring.
