Buddleja Alternifolia is cold hardier than the common Butterfly Bush(Buddleja davidii). Where as the latter does not come back after winter, the former keeps coming back each year in my rough climate. Some Butterfly Bush flowers below my Golden Silver Maple.

Golden Hops
Golden Hops against the approaching storm. The hops is currently crawling all over the Giant Miscanthus.
Metallic Blue Worms
I found an attractive insect in the flower garden. There were many of these larvae on the Goldenrod(Solidago). They are the larvae of Goldenrod Leaf Beetle.
Northrop & Kokuso Mulberry
Most of the mulberries here have been planted by wild animals, but I have bought some mulberry cultivars, such as the two below: Northrop Mulberry on the left and Kokuso Mulberry on the right.
Oranges Growing In Iowa
This is the closest I will get to growing an orange in Iowa. Some unknown orange fungi I came across on my walk.

Turkey Vultures are a common sight in the summer. Though I rarely see them landed.
Carnival Hedge Maple
The Hedge Maple(Acer campestre) grows good here. Carnival is a Variegated Hedge Maple that is slower growing than the species, but is spectacular in color.
Crambe Cordifolia Flowering
Crambe Cordifolia is a large plant that reliably flowers. The plants can become as tall as me with their large flower stalks.
