Looking up into a young American Chestnut tree: Chestnut trees have good growth, but there is always a risk of Chestnut Blight killing my 100% American Chestnuts. I also have Chinese and Hybrid Chestnut trees started.

Kiwano, also known as Horned Melons, have an attractive pattern to their fruit. This fruit needs a longer season, as ripe fruit will be orange, but they are green here when the fall freezes come.

Hit Again
Last year a young Black Locust trunk was rubbed by a buck, Black Locust Deer Rub. This year the tree was hit again.

Asiatic Dayflower is a self-seeding annual plant that has been slowly spreading here. I read that this plant is edible, though I haven’t tried it yet.
