Bindweed has been spreading in the gardens and also in the pastures. In the pastures it is not a problem as the goats eat it.

IFO…Identified Flying Object
I looked and saw something from afar, inching slowly closer. It was a DirecTV Blimp. It was the first time I remember seeing a blimp fly over the Oasis.

The cats like to get up on top of the barns and check out the landscape. Actually they are looking for birds to kill.
Blueberry Fruit
Blueberries have had problems growing in my harsh climate. Yet sometimes I do get some fruit.

Oriental Limelight Artemisia is a hybrid selection that is very vigorous. This plant has decided to compete against the the naturalized Crown Vetch.
Goumi Fruit
I continue to enjoy Goumi fruit. I only have one bush that is producing, but now it is producing enough for me and the birds.
Beaver Food
It has been nearly 20 years since Beavers dominated our farm. The cattle helped keep them away from the pond, but now that the cattle are gone, I have planted many trees along the pond. The Beavers have come back to a paradise, ready to make my Oasis their haven.
Long Mulberry Fruit
The Illinois Everbearing Mulberry has longer fruit the any other mulberry I am growing. This cultivar can produce fruit for nearly 2 months.
Japanese Varnish Tree
My Japanese Varnish Tree is starting to take off. This tree is borderline hardy, so I will see if it ever attains tree size.
Japanese Larch Color
Some of my Japanese Larch Seedlings can have a bluish tinge to their needles. Japanese Larches have grown good for me, though they haven’t transplanted well.
