Morning Glory Cornfield
Morning Glory is a common weed, but it does look great. This vine was growing and flowering in a corn field.
Kiss Me Over The Garden Gate
Kiss Me Over The Garden Gate is an annual flowering plant. Persicaria orientalis is a self-seeding annual, so do not have to plant it everywhere. It can be weedy.
Goldenrod Flowering
Goldenrod is a late flowering plant and attracts a lot of insect pollinators. It is the preferred flower of the Locust Borer.
Iowa Fog
Lingering fog was hanging low in some spots. A different day this month was very foggy, then I saw the fog move East.
Yellow Watermelon
It is nice to see different colors of watermelon. This is a yellow watermelon that is just as tasty as any. Here is a pile of the various melons that were grown in the garden this year.
Fruiting Fig Tree
My potted fig tree has been producing more fruit. Even though I can’t grow this tree in the ground because it is not cold hardy, it works great as a potted tree.
Wingnut Neighbors
These two different species of wingnuts are keeping each other company in the goat pasture. Someday these Wingnuts(Pterocarya) should cross and produce hybrid trees.
Surprise Lily Row
Always seems like a surprise when these lilies pop up in late summer.
